Historic Levels of Immigration Fuel U.S. Demographic Shift

In what marks the most significant immigration wave in more than two decades, the United States has entered a new chapter of population expansion. The total U.S. population has now climbed past 340 million, with net international migration accounting for an astonishing 84% of the population increase recorded between 2023 and 2024.

Far from being a national trend alone, immigration has proven essential for state-level stability, preventing population decline in 16 states. The South continues to lead this demographic surge, with Texas and Florida emerging as the fastest-growing states.
